Wow, what more can you say with a handle like that!
Zak was an amazing dog and always ready to work or play, as he found most work to be, and was always ready to try something new. He has a wonderful on/off switch and is happy being a couch dog, but not so happy being retired.
Zak was my first dog and he and I learned as we went. I had a number of people tell me when Zak earned his Master Hunter title that when they watched to two of us compete in Junior Hunter their thoughts were 'What a nice dog, to bad he doesn't have a better handler'.
Zak has never been sent out for training all of his titles are owner trained and handled. He has only once had someone other than myself handle him at any event. In 2009 Zak came out of retirement, 2 years since doing any field or obedience work, and competed for the Nan Gordon Trophy at the GRCC National Specialty. He came home with a ribbon in WCX, placed 2nd in Open B with a 196, and won the Field Dog class. It was indeed a very special culmination to a wonderful career with a very special dog.
Zak proved through his career how trainable and willing he was. Zak was the second dog to ever earn a Master Versatility Certificate (MVC) from the GRCC. Even now at almost 11 he is still full of himself, firmly believing that no matter how good Chevy is, he could still do better!
Zak is available for stud to select bitches by frozen semen.

He had more overall style, balance and symmetry
than I might have expected from a field dog. He
had an excellent water repellant coat, (of course
he is a field dog). He was in great shape for his
age (10) and good correct Golden type, not always
seen in the field. He was the winner of the prestigious
Nan Gordon Trophy.
